from the relaxing arts of Thai batik painting and Thai cooking in the resort, to adventure packed rock-climbing, or scuba diving.
Day trips also provide you an insight into life in Thailand with excursions for shopping or elephant trekking on nearby Phuket or Krabi, or island tours of Koh Yao Noi itself, to see the fishing villages, rice fields and rubber plantations that are still the main activities for the local communities. Activity prices include all relevant taxes. All daytrip schedules may be changed depending on weather conditions and tides, for the safety and enjoyment of our guests. Night Fishing Tour (or Day Trip) Experience an unforgettable fishing trip with local fishermen on one of their traditional long-tail boats. Watch how they catch fish, crab, prawns and squid and try your hand at it, yourself. Our chefs are also happy to cook your catch of the day if you wish to eat it. Island Hopping Visit the most beautiful islands around Koh Yao Noi and Krabi during this unforgettable day trip on a long-tail boat, or the resort’ s own catamaran. Enjoy a day of sightseeing, swimming and snorkeling in wonderful Phang Nga bay with its impressive limestone rocks & hongs ("hong" means room in Thai and describes the internal lagoons). The trip starts with the ’hong’ inside Koh Hong, which is surrounded by limestone cliffs & affords you the opportunity to snorkel with tropical fish. A picnic lunch is served at ‘Paradise beach’, on a small, idyllic, hidden bay of Lading island. The final stop is the beautiful island Koh Phak Bia with it’s white sandy cape. Scuba Diving There is a Dive Base on Koh Yao Noi with professional dive masters that have more than twenty years diving experience around Phang Nga Bay. Catamaran Cruise & Sea Cave Exploring If you love cruising on a luxury Catamaran this is the right excursion for you! Explore Phang Nga Bay in style. This day trip provides a comfortable way to get around the renowned Phang Nga Bay with its unmatched natural beauty. Kayaks on board allow you to explore the caves & coastlines of the region up close. Sunset Catamaran Cruise Join us for a Romantic Sunset cruise of Phang Nga Bay. Cruising from the resort we encounter spectacular scenery and the dramatic limestone cliffs of Koh Ku Du, Koh Roi and Koh Boi. The catamaran staff will then take you to remote location within the bay to watch the spectacular sunset over the Southern Thailand seas. Phang Nga Bay Kayaking Take a trip through the beautiful Phang Nga Bay and explore all it’s natural wonders by kayak. You will be guided through the many sea caves that the bay has to offer, past spectacular rock formations and on to explore quiet hidden lagoons where you often spot monkeys and other wildlife. Along the way we stop at one of the amazing beaches to relax, swim and enjoy lunch. Before or after you have seen the caves & lagoons, depending on tides, you will also be taken sightseeing by long-tail boat around the world famous James Bond Island. Talen Bay Kayaking Take a short trip across the bay to Krabi by long-tail boat, where you will be dropped off with your guide to explore sights & sounds of Talen Bay and the magnificent limestone cliffs the area has to offer. You will be guided through the ever-changing mangrove forest where you are sure to encounter local monkeys & birdlife, up-close and personal. Stopping for lunch along the way, is always interesting with all the hungry monkeys keeping a close eye on you. After lunch we will continue through the cliffs & mangroves, until you meet up with the long-tail boat and head off to one of Phang Nga’s beautiful islands for swimming & snorkeling in the clear, turquoise water, before heading back to the resort. Elephant Trekking & Shopping in Ao Nang Take a trip through the beautiful Phang Nga Bay and explore all it’s natural wonders by kayak. A long-tail boat will take you to the Krabi mainland where you will explore Krabi’s rainforest on the back of majestic, yet gentle Asian elephants. The trek will take you along a small river and up on into the jungle at the foot of the fascinating Karst Mountains. Along the way-- keep your camera ready-- there are awesome sheer limestone cliffs similar to those found throughout Ao Nang Bay and the area is a natural habitat to monkeys & bird life. After lunch at a local Thai restaurant in Ao Nang village you will have the opportunity to shop along the beachfront road of Ao Nang. Small side roads will take you to more little shops that cater to tourists and locals alike. Products & souvenirs from all over Thailand are found in abundance: postcards, trinkets and handicrafts alongside a variety of shorts, shoes, hats and T-shirts. Eco-Bike Tour Learn more about Koh Yao Noi and local Island life while participating our guided Bike Tour. Enjoy cycling along the quiet road in the shade of rubber plantations – the best way to explore the wonderful nature of Koh Yao Noi. Jungle Trekking Experience the tropical forest with its great variety of plants and wildlife. Hike past the impressive limestone rock of our cove through the untouched jungle and learn more about indigenous plants, trees and animals. The highlight of this nature trek is the magnificent Buddha tree. Known on the island simply as ‘Big Tree’, this “Ficus Religiosa” rises well above 30 meters and it takes about 20 people to reach around its trunk. This wonder of nature is located very close to a beautiful hidden beach where a traditional long tail boat will be waiting to take you back to the resort. As you leave the beach the sight of the crown of Big Tree will leave a lasting impression. Rock Climbing Experience Koh Yao from a bird’s eye view! Some of the best outdoor rock-climbing in the world is located right next to the resort. Climbers come from every nation to experience the challenge of the climbs here, with their spectacular views of the turquoise waters of Phang Nga Bay providing enough motivation for even the most faint hearted to scale as high as possible. Climbs are designed, managed and maintained by international climbing experts to cater for all levels of skill, experience, and fitness. For those who have never climbed before, we offer an introductory course that provides instruction and safety briefings on our in-resort, practice climbing wall, before heading out to our beginner routes. For the experienced climber, our guides can show you some of the best new climbs in Thailand. Sunset in the Village Take a guided evening tour around Koh Yao Noi to explore the island and see the beautiful sunset. Experience local life on this unspoiled tropical island and enjoy a stunning view of the sunset at Sapan Yao Pier. Stop at the local market for some local souvenir shopping, a taste of the local fruits and to checkout the fishermen’s catch of the day. A traditional Thai dinner ends the day at a local seafood restaurant, where you can just sit back and relax. Village Tour Learn more about Koh Yao Noi and local island life and enjoy the lush tropical scenery on this guided tour. Arrive at Tha Khao pier where you can watch some local women doing traditional batik painting in their community shop and meet local fishermen, who will present you their catch of the day. Enjoy the view over rice fields while driving to one of the numerous rubber plantations, to find out how the islanders process latex to sheets of rubber. On the way to the main island market you will be able to see how the locals live – including some of the non-human residents such as water buffalos. Stroll along the market street and shop for some local products & souvenirs and then enjoy a tasty meal in a local seafood restaurant. Romantic Candlelit Dinner Right on the Beach The beach, the sound of the waves, the wonderful smell of the breeze blowing over the water - a perfect backdrop for an exceptionally romantic dinner.
