      General Overview of the Hotel...
Rachamankha, 22 courtyard rooms and 2 two-bedroom suites set in 2 acres of manicured gardens. Uniquely for a city hotel Rachamankha is renowned for its peaceful and very private atmosphere. The hotel's incredible architecture pays homage to Chiang Mai's golden age, the Lanna period, offering guests a unique stay in a unique property with a true sense of place. Rachamankha is also the only Secret Retreats property in northern Thailand.

Rachamankha is perfectly located in the heart of the 700 year old moated city of Chiang Mai Northern Thailand, next to the city's most revered Buddhist temple, Wat Phra Singh. The best of Chiang Mai is just a few steps from Rachamankha's doorstep with 35 Temples, Museums, The Art and Culture Hall, Galleries and Coffee Shops, a Wide variety of Bars and Restaurants, Shopping from Fine Art to Hilltribe Crafts, Banks, city Post Office and Convenience Stores and the Saturday and Sunday Community Markets are all within a few minutes' walk of the hotel.

Architect Ong-ard Satrabhandhu chose the unassuming architecture of the centuries-old vernacular Chinese dwellings, a carefully orchestrated sequence of courtyards as a source of inspiration. The architecture and landscape design of Rachamankha celebrates local Lanna historical heritage, climate and traditional building practices of the Northern Thai region. Southeast Asian architecture defines the character of the hotel, which is full of delightful surprises, a studied composition of light and dark, open and closed outdoor spaces to achieve a true sense of place that expresses serenity and mystery. Interiors and gardens designed by Mr. Rooj Changtrakul, also Rachamankha's M.D. Rachamankha is owned, and the home of, both Mr. Satrabhandu and Mr. Changtrakul.
